LOOKING TOWARD THE SHOW SEASON AHEAD!
|
|
|
Excella began
re-establishing a training program a couple of years ago. However, Lisa
suffered another health set back and underwent back surgery in November
2000. After a year in physio Lisa began riding again.
November 2001 has
been a busy month at Excella, Sandy and her new assistant trainer - Shawna
started our 2002 show string in training. However progress is slow
as we are currently in need of a farm worker. Applications can be submited
from the sidebar on our website.
Shawna joins our staff as an
experienced instructor and is currently designing a horsemanship program
with Lisa. Shawna re-started our lesson program
with a number of students already enrolled.
We are currently accepting a limited number of work exchange students
for our apprentice program. This is an extended program that offer
instruction on grooming, show management,
assistant training, breeding/teasing and farm management.
Now that we have established a foundation herd, we
anticipating using outside stallions more and more in our breeding
program. Last season Sandy went to Colorado State to become certified as a breeding tech
and gain more experience shipping and utilizing fresh cooled and frozen
semen.
Our
stallion Dexter has come into his own with all the
training and conditioning. He is a little on the small size, but a
horse of exceptional temperament, beauty and quality. Out crossed
with taller mares, we expect some great foals. Look for him in the
show ring next year or make an appointment to visit us.
Check back with us often, there's
always something new, a number of very exciting services are in the
works ! The finished product is expected to offer consumers
an exceptional multi-media marketing, communication, business and resource
package unlike anything currently available. Not only will it be
a good value, but all proceeds will go to the Canadian Arabian Horse
Foundation. This project has become so much larger than originally
anticipated and will be long term, sign up for our newsletter and
we'll let you know the minute it is released.
